A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind and touches a heart. I just love this teacher's quote! This would be a great quote to place on your classroom door! :): Hello there CC family!! Super fun week this week! Its teacher appreciation!! If you're anything like me, this task can get a little overwhelming! Tying to find the perfect gift that says how much we appreciate them, without breaking the bank can be a hard task! So... I hit up pintrest and found some SUPER cute ideas that can be done at a fare cost!
As you prepare your gift for your special teacher remember that whether you have 1 teacher or 3. A toddler or a 6th grader at any age our children are being taught by a wonderful person!  Whether they teach at our center or in an elementary school. One thing I know is for sure is a teacher is the only person that's losing sleep over other peoples children!
I hope these ideas help! I know I'm using a few of them!

Utah's ShakeOut

Today was a super eventful/ educational day for us here at the center! We participated in the 2016
Utah ShakeOut! For those that don't know what this is, its the annual state wide earthquake drill!
Our kiddos learned not only what an earthquake is but what to do and where to go after! Yes even our infant and toddler rooms participated in this event! I don't want to brag but.. We were able to get our whole center evacuated in our meeting spot with NO issues! The kids loved learning and talking about this drill so ask your little what they thought! This had me thinking once again my family doesn't have an earthquake plan, we actually probably wouldn't even know what to do in case of an earthquake! If you're  like me then these tips will help you! Our center encourages all of our families to make emergency disaster plans! Even if you're not convinced of the likely hood of the situations, talk about them with your family. Try and be as prepared as you can!  Until next time, happy preparing! Love, your CC Blogger

Happy St. Patrick's day!!! This day always leaves a bittersweet feeling in my family! Every year my kids think " We will catch that leprechaun for sure this year!" We still haven't caught him but boy did he do a number to our living room! I think our cute kids at school today got that same feeling as they searched our schools to see if anyone had caught him! From green breakfast to rainbow cupcakes and leprechaun traps we have seen it all today and I am so happy that I get to be a part of it every year! I hope you enjoy some of the pictures we were able to capture while watching our kiddos enjoy this super fun and exciting holiday!

Kindergarten LUV!

Hey hey everyone!!
So.. Spring is a pretty exciting time in our schools! We start enrolling for kindergarten!! Not only do we get new friends, but we get to watch the friends that we've watched since the toddler room prepare for kindergarten!!! Its usually SO fun!! This year is a little bitter sweet for me because my baby is one of the kids in our pre-k program that's getting ready for the big change! ( She couldn't be more excited!) As most of you may know kindergarten is not required in the state of Utah, actually its not required in most states! So as I see the signs at our center and the schools for kindergarten round up I start thinking.. If its not required, do parents know the importance of kindergarten? Well, just in case we are going to go over some reasons why its so crucial to have this year before they head to first grade! Hopefully weather your doing public school or our kindergarten program this will shed some light for ya! P.S We hope you come to our program!!!!

In our program your child will:

Learn the basics! This means they will learn the basics of reading, writing, and math. That way when they get to first grade they are prepared for what the teacher has to teach!

Learn how to socialize! This is a BIG one! In our program they will learn how to make new friends, share, and problem solve by using their words and not their hands or feet! They will develop the skills needed to socialize not only in small groups but larger ones as well!

Learn how a routine works! There is so much to learn in kindergarten! That means everyday they follow a schedule to help them stay on task and into the habit of sitting, listening and learning!

So maybe I'm a little biased towards our kindergarten program!! But.. I know both teachers personally and they are AMAZING at what they do! I've had 2 of my own kids graduate from our program and have moved on to do wonderfully in first grade! There are a ton more benefits to kindergarten then I have time to go over today, but I hope these few are enough to make your decision a little easier! And if you or someone you know is on the fence about kindergarten, I encourage you to do some research, talk to teachers and make the decision that best fits your little one!

Dr. Seuss

Screen-Shot-2013-02-28-at-10.40.54-PM.png (495×498): A big hello to my favorite readers! So.. This year March is a BIG month! But.. Before we hit St. Patrick's Day, Easter, or Spring break do's, don'ts and must's we have to honor the birth of the man that changed children's books forever! Yes, Dr. Seuss! I don't know about you guys but in my lime of work Dr. Seuss and his birthday are kind of a big deal!!! Instead of jumping straight into the party side of him, we're going to start with 5 Crazy facts most people didn't know ( including myself) about Dr. Seuss!

1.) His REAL name was Theodor Seuss Geisel, Born March 2, 1904

2.) He WAS NOT a doctor in any way shape or form! He didn't even have a doctorate until 1956 when his alma mater Dartmouth gave him an honorary one.

3.) He was married twice and never had his own kids, in fact he wasn't a fan of children. ( How ironic, he didn't like kids but made his money writing for them!)

4.) His books weren't always successful! His first book was turned down by 27 different publishers before he found one to take it!

5.) Dr. Seuss wrote green eggs and ham after making a bet with his publisher that he could write a whole book using only 50 words! ( He won)

So now that you've learned a thing or two about the legendary Dr. Seuss, Lets learn how to party in his honor!                          Love, The one and only... CC Blogger
